Phainon fan splashart

Happy to share my Phainon fas Splash! For this illustration I completely changed my process, rendering style and approach. I worked mainly on one layer, starting with values without colour and underpaintings, building up vibrancy and more precise drawing as I advanced. As references I gravitated towards more classical painting styles like Caravaggio, trying to give a strikig contrast with a bold shape of light.

I also had fun portraying the serious and dramatic all-powerfull angel that Phainon is. Hope you like it!
